1 C Sugar |
1 C Butter |
11⁄2 C nuts |
3 Tbsp Water |
1 Tbsp white corn syrup - Karo |
6 oz chocolate chips or several chocolate candy bars |
Melt butter and stir in sugar gradually. Add syrup and water. Cook overr moderate heat until it reaches the very brittle stage when dropped in cold water. Add 1 cup of the nuts and cook 3 minutes more. Pour into buttered 9 inch square pan. Let set for a few minutes, but when still hot sprinkle with chocolate chips or chocolate bars and allow to melt. Spread the chocolate like frosting. Sprinkle with nuts and allow to cool. Break into pieces to serve.
